Hear, Lord, my prayer, in faithfulness reply,
Thy righteousness my plea, my soul attend.
Judge not Thy servant, none are just to vie,
My foes pursue, my life to darkness send.
My spirit fails, my heart in dread lies still,
I muse on all Thy works, Thy hands of old.
I stretch my hands, my soul like thirsty hill,
Make haste, O Lord, lest death my life enfold.
Thy mercy show, my foes I trust Thee slay,
Teach me Thy will, Thy Spirit lead my way.
In Thee I hide, from trouble’s cruel affray,
For Thy name’s sake, my soul redeem, I pray.
