PSALM 132

1–2 minutes

Remember, Lord, Thy servant David’s care,
The hardships borne, his vow to Thee was sworn.
“No rest I’ll take, no bed shall I prepare,
Till God’s own house, His dwelling, be adorned.”
We heard His ark at Ephrathah was found,
In Jaar’s fields, we sought its resting place.
Let’s go to worship, bow on holy ground,
Thy priest in righteousness, Thy saints in grace.
For David’s sake, Thy chosen, do not turn
From Thine anointed, keep Thy oath of old.
His throne shall stand, as sun and moon shall burn,
If sons keep faith, Thy covenant to hold.
The Lord has chosen Zion for His throne,
His rest forever, there His might shall dwell.
Her poor He’ll feed, her saints with joy be known,
Her priests with light, her foes His wrath shall quell.
David’s horn shall sprout, his lamp shall ever shine,
His crown endure, his foes in shame decline
.
