Praise ye the LORD! Blessed is the man who fears
The LORD, and in His statutes, takes delight.
His seed on earth shall mighty be and strong,
The upright’s generation blessed and bright.
So wealth and riches in his house shall dwell,
His righteousness endureth evermore.
A light in darkness for the upright swells,
With grace, compassion, and a righteous core.
A good man showeth favour, freely lends,
Affairs he guides with great discretion wise.
He’ll not be moved, nor will his standing end;
The righteous in remembrance e’er shall rise.
No evil tidings shall his heart affright,
Fixed firm it stands, in GOD, confiding sure.
Established, he fears nothing in the night,
Till on his foes he sees his wish secure.
He hath dispersed, to poor his gifts bestowed;
His righteousness endureth without end.
His horn with honour high shall be bestowed.
The wicked grieves and gnashes teeth; desires end.
